We Walk, So Others Don’t Have to
On March 20, 2021, we celebrated our 15th annual Walk for Water at Riverfront Park in North Charleston, SC. This flagship Walk for Water was just one of many exciting Walks that happened around the world in 2021. Together, with partners and volunteers who are passionate about serving their global neighbors, more than 5,000 people walked 15,000 miles to raise more than $1 million in 2021!
Walks were hosted by corporate partners, including Grundfos, Georg Fischer, Hach, Pace Analytical, and Pentair. Churches and community groups, large and small, also organized Walks, raising awareness and funds to fight the global water crisis.
Robert Lasher volunteered to coordinate the Walk for Water in Beaufort, South Carolina. He told us:
“The idea to host a Walk for Water started with one heart that really cared and shared what Water Mission was doing. We knew the purpose of the Walk was to create awareness of the global water crisis and to raise funds for Water Mission so they can continue the wonderful work they are doing…. It turned out to be the best decision we ever made! I’ve heard people say this was the most fun and impactful thing they have been involved in.”
