On the morning of August 14, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck southern Haiti, devastating communities and claiming more than 2,200 lives.

Securing safe water access after a disaster is critical to preventing the spread of waterborne illnesses. With more than 20 years of disaster response experience, Water Mission has an extensive background in providing immediate and long-term safe water solutions.
Through established disaster response partnerships, our team has responded to other disasters in Haiti, including the 2010 earthquake that devastated the capital city of Port-au-Prince and caused 220,000 casualties.
This earthquake comes at a time when the country is grappling with a political crisis and the extensive impact of COVID-19.
